Summer Quilt Retreat - June 27 - 29, 2008
Plans are being made for a time of fun, fellowship, learning, and working
on all those quilts you need to finish! The Summer Quilt Retreat will be
held June 27-29, 2008, at Heartland Retreat Center, near Brenham. Registration
will begin at the February 12, 2008, Guild Meeting. Cost this year is $188 per
person. This is an increase in the cost from 2007. The higher cost is caused by
(1) overall price increases at the Retreat Center, and (2) we will not have the
4-meal option this year--we will be served six meals. Registration for the
Summer Retreat requires a $50.00 non-refundable deposit and the completion of
a registration form. The balance will be due at the May 13, 2008, Guild Meeting.
Registration is limited to 24 people.
Sewing stations will be set up in the new Craft Center. Accommodations are in
housing units attached to the Craft Center. The Craft Center has a refrigerator,
coffeemaker, and microwave oven. The housing units have kitchen areas with
stoves, refrigerators, coffeemakers, microwave ovens. Snacks will be allowed
in the sewing area this year! Meals will be served in the Dining Hall.
Shop Hop - Saturday, August 16
Ready? Set? SHOP!! That's right its time for the BBQG Shop Hop
to Houston on August 16th. We will be going to The Painted
Pony, Quakertown Quilts, Quilt and Sew Studio and The
Feathered Star. Cost is $40 for BBQG Members and $50 for non-
members. This includes a fabulous lunch from the Charleston
Tea Room. So come join the fun and contact Michaele to sign up
